Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to common questions about Microlinks Extensions.
Microlink extensions use small, non-damaging metal beads clamped around tiny sections of your natural hair. They hold individual wefts or strands securely without glue or heat, creating a seamless, lightweight blend that enhances length and volume in targeted areas.
Wear time varies with hair growth and care, but Microlinks commonly remain effective for six to eight weeks. We recommend maintenance every four to six weeks to reposition beads, retighten, and check natural hair health to ensure comfort and longevity.
When installed with proper technique and maintained regularly, Microlinks are low-risk. They avoid adhesives and excessive heat, minimizing damage. Avoid tight installations, follow aftercare instructions, and always have a trained stylist remove or adjust extensions to protect your natural hair.
Our Microlink service does not include hair; clients bring their chosen extensions for color and texture match. If you need assistance sourcing high-quality hair, we can recommend trusted suppliers and advise on appropriate lengths and textures for a seamless, natural result.
Microlink placement typically covers 2-3 rows to add targeted fullness and length. Pricing depends on the number of rows, hair quantity and quality, stylist time, and any additional customization. Extra rows or larger coverage incur additional costs.
Use sulfate-free shampoos, condition gently, and avoid heavy oils at the roots. Detangle with a wide-tooth comb from tips upward, sleep on satin, and schedule regular salon maintenance. Limit direct heat on the bead areas to prevent slippage or damage.
