How the crochet method works
Crochet Root Maintenance for 100 locs uses a fine crochet tool to re-secure new growth directly into each loc, instantly locking loose fibers at the root. The technician focuses on the base of each loc to tidy and define roots without performing interlocking, so the visible finish looks clean and renewed.
Because the process targets only the new growth at the scalp, it leaves the existing loc body largely undisturbed. That makes this maintenance option appropriate when you want a polished root line and defined locs without a full interlock procedure — a distinct technique and outcome compared with interlocking services.
What to expect during appointment
Appointments are scheduled for 270 MINUTES and the service fee is $320. During your visit the stylist will assess root growth, then use the crochet tool to secure the new growth across approximately 100 locs. The method is procedural and methodical, so expect concentrated attention on the scalp and root definition throughout the session.
We offer evening and weekend availability to fit Pico-Robertson commutes and busy Westside schedules; many clients time appointments around visits to Century City, Beverly Center or nearby shopping corridors. Note that May, June and December are our busiest months, as clients prepare for summer travel or holiday events.
Aftercare and maintenance considerations
Aftercare is straightforward: gentle handling at the roots, routine washing as you normally would for loc maintenance, and keeping appointments for root refreshes based on your hair growth and lifestyle. Los Angeles’s warm, dry summers and year-round outdoor living may influence how often you notice fresh growth, so adjust timing to match your schedule and appearance goals.
If you prefer a different base technique, remember this service does not include interlocking. For clients who need interlocking rather than crochet maintenance, we offer a separate Interlock Maintenance service — please call with questions so we can recommend the right approach for your 100 locs.
