Braiding Class Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about our one-on-one braiding classes and enrollment.

In the one-on-one beginners class you'll learn foundational braiding techniques—proper parting, three-strand and feed-in braids, tension control, and finishing. Fama provides hands-on correction, timing strategies, and product recommendations so you leave confident to braid clients and continue practicing independently.

The class is ideal for aspiring stylists, cosmetology students, and home braiders starting from beginner level. If you want professional techniques, salon-ready speed, or to start freelancing, Fama tailors lessons to your goals and current skill level in each session.

Sessions typically run three to four hours for beginners, allowing thorough demonstrations, hands-on practice, and feedback. Timing can be adjusted based on your progress—longer or repeat sessions are available to reinforce skills and build speed with Fama's personalized instruction.

Basic tools and practice hair are provided for in-class use. You're welcome to bring personal tools if preferred. Fama will advise on professional-grade combs, clips, and care products to purchase after class to maintain technique and deliver consistent client results.

Book online via our website booking form, call the salon, or message us on social media. Provide preferred dates and experience level; Fama will confirm availability and send pre-class materials and payment instructions to secure your private session.

You'll receive a completion certificate recognizing the skills covered and hours logged. While not a formal licensing credential, this certificate supports portfolio development and can be shown to employers or clients. Additional advanced certificates are available through follow-up courses.
